The Scriptures
God has inspired all of the Bible writings (Old Testament and New Testament) they are holy, without fault, incapable of failing and God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13). It is because of this truth we believe the Bible should be rightly preached and taught in an expository style. We teach verse by verse and chapter by chapter to enable the whole counsel of God to be taught.
Jesus christ
Stepped down onto this earth and took on human flesh, both fully man and fully God. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin woman, He came with the sole purpose of reconciling our broken relationship with God which we fractured by sin. He did this by redeeming us through His death upon the cross, in which He became our substitute, that is, while He Himself did not sin, He became sin on our behalf (2 Corinthians 5:21) and paid our penalty for sin on the cross.
Then by His literal, physical resurrection our justification has been made whole and sure. He then ascended into heaven where He now sits at God’s mighty right hand, where as our High Priest He intercedes on our behalf and is our advocate. We await His return for His Church, and then the second coming when He will judge the living and the dead. It is with this testimony we agree with scripture that Jesus is the foundation and cornerstone of the Church.
John 1:1-2,14; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 7:25, 9:24; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2; 1 Peter 4:5; Romans 14:9; 2 Timothy 4:1; 1 Corinthians 3:11
Worship
Not only is God worthy of all our praise but we willingly sing songs to Him out of an immense joy of who He is and what He has done. We believe it is our service to our Heavenly Father not only to worship Him in song but with our whole life, at home, work and recreation.
John 4:23; Colossians 3:16; 1Thessalonians 5:16-18
The godhead
We attest to one God existing eternally in three persons who are equal in nature, power, glory, attributes, sovereignty and perfection. Who all share the same mind and will, they are God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14
We also believe all three persons are active in salvation.
1 Peter 1:2
Holy spirit
He is a person who proceeds from God to convict people of their sins and awaken their dead souls (Ephesians 2:5) and is vital in the regeneration of a persons heart. He baptizes all believers into the body of Christ. He is given by Jesus to indwell and seal us unto the day of redemption, by leading, guiding, convicting and comforting all followers of Christ
John 16:8-11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18
Salvation
It is the good news of the cross and is the most precious gift given by God. A gift we did not deserve but out of His love, mercy and grace He gave it freely to anyone who comes and asks. It comes through admitting we have sinned and fallen short of God’s standards and comes only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the work on the cross, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. Jesus is the only way to salvation and the only way to God.
Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19
